  NEW BLACK BELTS!!

Congratulations to Barry Healy and Sophie Goodman who achieved the rank of 1st Dan on Friday 27th. We are all extrememly proud of them and are happy to welcome them into our elite group.

Congratulations to all those who also graded up at the North Weald and Buckhurst Hill Summer Schools!

Congratulations to all those who were selected to compete under Karate England in the Senior WUKF European Championships in Santarem, Portugal. We took 13 medals in all, 1 gold, 2 silver and 10 bronze. Three students form the Essex and Herts branch competed, Rob Ward, Lisa Lethbridge and Della Tudisca, taking silver and 3 bronze medals between them, with other students selected from Sensei Ian Cuthberts club and various others. The standard was extremely high and the competition was very well run, always starting and finishing on time with the officials consistently fair. We sent three officials to complete the WUKF world reffing course, Sonia Powell from Sensei Ians club and our own Tom Heenan and Lucy Goodman. Many thanks to them all for giving their time and expertise, as we are all well aware that we wouldn`t have competitions without them!! We was a good trip all round with some relaxing moments in a beautiful setting too, look out for the photos in the Photo Gallery.
